Background
Friends International is a non-profit organization that works to protect children and families in Cambodia. In 2021, with the financial support of the European Union and Credit Suisse APAC Foundation, Friends International partnered with the Ministry of Labor’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Department to map and assess vocational training and employment service providers across six priority provinces in Cambodia. The goal of this project was to create a database of training and employment services that could be used by service providers working with vulnerable populations.
Zooms’ Role
Zooms was contracted by Friends International to help build the online directory of vocational training and employment services. Zooms’ team of experts worked with Friends International to gather data from the TVET Department’s mapping exercise, and then used this data to create a user-friendly database. The database includes information on the type of training offered, the location of the training provider, and the cost of the training.
Impact
The online directory of vocational training and employment services has been a valuable resource for service providers working with vulnerable populations in Cambodia. The directory has helped service providers to find the right training and employment support for their clients, and has also helped to raise awareness of the availability of these services.
Conclusion
The online directory of vocational training and employment services is a valuable resource that has helped to improve the lives of vulnerable children and families in Cambodia. Zooms is proud to have played a role in the creation of this directory, and we are committed to continuing to support Friends International in their work to protect children and families.
Thank you to TVET for full partnership and support and to the EU and Credit Suisse APAC Foundation for making the work possible.
